At 12:30, I met up with Albert and Enzo and we travelled in Albert's car to meet our client. It was an interesting trip, because the driver was very vocal in his opinions about our current government. I disagree with him, but it was quite refreshing to speak to someone who held a different view who respected my opinion and did not resort to calling me names.
The meeting took longer than expected. We left the office at 3:30 and headed back towards the Ateneo. Fortunately, we arrived at around 4:45 and had plenty of time to register and find our seats before the DISCS Seniors sendoff started.
It was a fun program. DISCS faculty always find a way to keep things interesting. Especially Dr. Vergara, the VP of the Loyola Schools. I guess that improvisation is a key skill of anybody in a position of leadership. I also received a nice plaque for being one of the top ten graduating students of the department. And 3000 pesos worth of gift vouchers. This really came as a surprise, as the other people with me held positions of leadership in various organizations and projects. But that surprise made it all the sweeter.
They also served free dinner there. I especially enjoyed the lechon baboy. I believe it was from Cebu. The meat was juicy and the skin crunchy, and thus was very good. I have tried many lechons in my lifetime, and though this one was good, it doesn't quite compare to the others I have tried. For one, the skin was closer to brownish orange than red, and thus slightly lacking in crispiness. Another is the fact that they only served it with Mang Tomas lechon sauce, which I have never liked. Like many Bisaya people, I prefer mine with suka (vinegar), asin (salt), and ahos (garlic). I even learned how to prepare the sauce myself!
It was already 7:30 when the party ended. While the others made their way to the Blue Roast, which is probably still ongoing, I travelled to Trinoma to return Ate Janna's laptop. However, she wasn't replying to my texts nor answering her phone. Instead of returning home right away, I decided to tarry a little and buy a Dark Ascension booster. While at Neutral Grounds, Ate Janna finally contacted me and we finally met up at Greenwich SM North branch.
It was an exhausting day. But it is during days like these that I realize that there is a lot that one person can do in the span of a day. I suppose that if I were to cut down on my time on the net, I would be able to do a lot more things that I have been putting off. Like cleaning my room. My parents are arriving tomorrow, so I should get around to doing that. Or at least hiding everything in the closet. I believe the closet is the best option.
Anyway, I am getting sleepy. Good night.
